Surrounded by great employees (some have been here almost 30 years), William Moore the Owner/Operator of the iHop Takoma Park and iHop Wheaton works to provide an excellent working environment and excellent customer service along with a great meal. In 1974 Mr. Moore didn’t start out owning an iHop but was hired as a busboy at the iHop that he now owns and operates (2526 University Boulevard West in Wheaton, MD 20902). He also owns and operates iHop-Takoma Park (7405 New Hampshire Avenue, Takoma Park MD 20912.) He is a lifelong resident of the Wheaton-Kensington area and as a child attended Oakland Terrace Elementary, graduated to Newport Junior High and finished at Einstein High School.
Mr. Moore is very active in the community serving as the President of the Wheaton-Kensington Chamber of Commerce active on the beautification committee of the Rock Creek Palisades Citizens Association, active board member of MUM (Mid-County United Ministries) which helps people in crisis in the Wheaton, Kensington, and Aspen Hill communities with food, medicine, eviction prevention and utilities, emphasizing client choice, problem-solving and self- sufficiency. He also represents small business owners as an active member on the Wheaton Urban District Advisory Committee. The Wheaton Urban District Advisory Committee (WUDAC) consists of 11 members appointed by the County Executive and confirmed by the County Council to provide advice on all matters affecting the Wheaton Urban District area (downtown). Members represent businesses, the Chamber of Commerce, residents, and the Mid-County Citizens Advisory Board (MCCAB).
