Helping Out in Montgomery County

Supporting the Community

Making a Difference

iHop Takoma Park is an active member of the community we serve in Takoma Park and Wheaton, Maryland. In the month of May we provide aide to those participating in Bike To Work Day, a fun and free event to encourage cycling as a sustainable form of transportation. We give away water at our pitstop on Sligo Creek Trail and New Hampshire Avenue and encourage participants along their way. Registration for 2020 opens in March for the event on Friday, May 15, 2020.

We are also members of the Takoma/Langley Crossroads Development Authority a business community created by the City of Takoma Park in 1987 to market and promote, provide maintenance, amenities and security in the Takoma/Langley Commercial Management District. Just minutes from Washington, D.C., the Takoma/Langley Crossroads is a busy shopping district with over 200 shops and restaurants offering a unique shopping experience with an international flair. Meet us at the Crossroads!

Susie Pancake and her companion Chocolate Chip Charlie have participated in numerous events in Montgomery County in the past couple of years so keep an eye out for them! They love children and can also be coaxed into photo opportunities with adults.

iHop Takoma Park is very close to Sligo Creek Trail. It is a paved hiker-biker trail running along Sligo Creek linking Takoma Park with Wheaton. Most of the trail passes through tree-filled parkland and is a popular place to jog, walk, bicycle, roller-skate, and take children to the playground.

Takoma Park has many events during the year including the Jazz Festival, 4th of July Parade, Street Festivals, weekend Farmer's Market, Sanskrit 101 and many more. Check out Mains Street Takoma for listings.

William Moore, Owner/Operator of both iHop Takoma Park and iHop Wheaton, is active in many civic ventures including the Wheaton-Kensington Chamber of Commerce, where he is the current President attending hearings and working to keep the business and residential community informed and making their voice heard in Montgomery County, MD. Also an active board member of MUM (Mid-County United Ministries) which helps people in crisis in the 20902, 20906, 20895, 20896 and 20853 zip codes with food, medicine, eviction prevention and utilities,problem-solving and self-sufficiency. He and his staff march in support of MUM during their annual Walk for Hunger Awareness.

And of course iHop Wheaton and iHop Takoma Park are enthusiastic participants in the free pancake day to help raise funds for cancer reasearch every year in March.
